Hey everyone,
I recently graduated as a psychology major and am having difficulty with the "science letter of recommendation" requirement set forth by most medical schools. First off, I know the psychology professors will not count. However, one of my bio professors recently agreed to write me a letter. Will this count as a science LoR, even if she technically works in the "College of Public Health," rather than the "College of Biology?" Thanks in advance.

I wish I knew! Since no one else has answered I can offer conjecture: I think that it would count, though, not very strong.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Im a psych major as well and I have never put as much effort into EC sci work as I have into my humanities EC. From what I headed at the ucdavis seminar a couple months ago, having a general interest in people and their care was more important than anything 🙂 as long as the other requirements were satisfactory.

Again, conjecture. I hope everything works out for you 🙂

If the letter is related to a course that is classified under Biology, then I believe it should classify as a science letter. However, some schools are more stringent than others about what letters qualify as science letters, so I would e-mail the admissions department to make sure.
