[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"1. Please list your activities since high school. Include jobs held, extra-curricular activities, service and volunteer activities, honors and awards, any military or other service to the country and any significant periods during which you were neither employed nor enrolled in school. Also, explain in detail any two of the activities that were most meaningful to you.

2. Please compose an essay that includes answers to the following questions: a) Why do you feel you would be a successful optometry student at Southern College of Optometry and eventually a successful optometrist? b) How did you first learn about Optometry? c) What experience or exposure have you had to the field?"

For those of you who applied: Are they asking for just a list with dates and then an essay discussing the most meaningful activities? Or should the activities be incorporated into an essay instead of simply listing them?

Thanks so much!

I made an organized list of all the activities I have been involved in, and separated them into different sections according to what type of activity it was. Then I wrote an essay following the list, of the two most meaningful activities.

I had the same question. I have applied, interviewed, and have been accepted to SCO with scholarship. They told me that it would be okay to simply send in a Curricula vitae (or however you spell that)... basically I took my resume and adapted it. They did say that I should include a paragraph about two events that meant a lot to me and why for scholarship purposes... but I never got that in to them, and they still gave me a generous scholarship.

Maybe you've already submitted your essays, but if not, hope this helps.

I spoke with Mike about the prompts before I sent mine in and he said bullets, resume, cv, or essays works. Nothing is preferred but if you do the essays it might help get that green (scholarship $$$$)
