I went through the SCO interview last year and this year, too. The questions were about the same.
Tell me about yourself. --- Sell yourself! Remember, they don't know ANYTHING about you but your name and your hometown. Decide ahead of time what you want to say about yourself (don't forget volunteer work!) and give it to them. Be careful you don't sound too scripted, though.
Why optometry? Any other schools (such as dental, pharmacy, med) that interest you? --- I think they want to see that you are definitely serious about optometry as a profession and not a fall back from some other option. Explain why optometry wins out over the other options.
Be able to know something about professional optometry organizations (nationally, state, locally) or resources about the profession. This topic was worded in different way in each of my two interviews, but they seemed to want to know how much you have looked into optometry. Try to find some information (or resources regarding) politics and optometry.
I'm sure I'm overlooking something. Your interview will likely be VERY laid back. It's more of an evaluation of your character, in my opinion, so be yourself! Display the professionalism and friendliness that the profession requires. Good luck, and I look forward to meeting you at SCO in August!

Hey guys, I have an interview at SCO in about 2 weeks and I was just wondering what to expect with that? I know its closed file, but what types of questions where asked for those that interviewed there? Another question I have i actually for someone else, can someone tell me if SCO requires minium grades in their pre-req courses, like do you need a C or something for them to count? Thanks in advance.
