How long after SCO confirming they have received all your information did you get an interview invite? I was just confirmed, and received an email regarding the clinical aspects of the education.

I was offered an invite no longer than 1 week after confirmation.

I did apply very early though, and was there on the first day of interviews.

Hey, I am expecting to get an interview from SCO soon. DO you mind telling me what your interview experience was like? What was the format of the interview? Probably if you could share some questions that they asked, that would be great!

You begin by meeting one-on-one with the man in charge of admissions, just to review your file (make sure you are on target for prereq's, etc) and talk about the process for the day. Then you have a one-on-one interview with a faculty member. Be prepared for questions like "Tell me about yourself", why optometry, why SCO, what issues are facing optometry these days, general knowledge of laws (like what is legal in TN that isn't elsewhere), etc. Next you go on a group tour of the campus with a 3rd year student. Last you meet as a group with financial aid and a second year student to talk about financial aid at the university as well as housing options. It lasts about 3 hours. I had 2 other students in my group, so it was a mix of one-on-one and being together for the non-interview portions. Everyone is super friendly and wants to make as good of an impression on you as you want to make on them.

Did anyone else have a really big time lag between optomcas submissions and SCO uploading them? It's been like 3 weeks and they still don't have my reccomendation letter...

No, they send out a number of emails from different faculty and staff. That one is information about their clinical program with facts and links for you to learn more. They send you a lot of different emails and I've gotten quite a few phone calls from different people too. It's nice that they are so proactive about wanting you to understand more about the university and making sure a range of people get in touch with you so that all your questions can be cleared up.

I don't think my stuff ever showed up as received on the thing you can check online. I interviewed there a few weeks ago and was accepted, and after that they took my info off the "check status" thing on the site. So I wouldn't worry about that. Email or call Mr Robertson, because SCO is really great about getting you information and being really transparent about their process. I don't think they would mind at all if you called and asked about the status of your file, what the timeline is for making a decision on extending an interview, etc.
