Man. Every place I have worked in the past six months I have asked for this drug and been told sorry, we don't have it. Didn't know why. I go to about seven different hospitals. Loved it for trauma and sepsis in residency.
Great for super sick trauma or heart patients when you couldn't give them much else for fear of them tanking. Only used it a handful of times but no chance of recall with it.
It's true.
I used it all the time in unstable trauma patients and crash c sections.
I guess now it really will be sux, tube, and an apology if they survive. And maybe a couple of midazolam.
i liked it for the mostly dead trauma patients that come crashing to the OR that I'm hoping they avoid recall if they are alive tomorrow I've replaced with with a smidge of versed and a little ketamine. Doesn't drop the pressure much and probably makes it a mostly forgettable and/or fun experience if they don't die.
