Notice the wide variation throughout the years in terms of # of correct needed to pass. For some years in certain sections it is 37, and then a couple of years later it is 51.

That's right. Here are some averages for us to play with, from 1997-2003.

Raw score equivalent to 75 (passing) / Raw score equivalent to 85
So, the guesstimates we often talk about are correct. Get 50% of the questions correct to pass (75 score), get 65% correct to get a good score (85), and get 80% correct to get a score in the mid-90 range.
