Score Conversion Sheet

That's one of my favorite nerd reports. 😀

Notice the wide variation throughout the years in terms of # of correct needed to pass. For some years in certain sections it is 37, and then a couple of years later it is 51.

Am I reading those data right that the vast majority of the time the passing raw score is below 50, except for those rare times, 2001, 2002 Dental Anatomy, 97 micro/path, etc?

That's right. Here are some averages for us to play with, from 1997-2003.
------------
Raw score equivalent to 75 (passing) / Raw score equivalent to 85

Anatomic Sciences: 47 / 66
Biochem/Physiology: 45 / 66
Micro/Pathology: 43 / 65
Dental Anatomy: 46 / 68
------------

So, the guesstimates we often talk about are correct. Get 50% of the questions correct to pass (75 score), get 65% correct to get a good score (85), and get 80% correct to get a score in the mid-90 range.
