Anyone have a rough idea of how % correct on the question banks translate into scores on the step 1?

70% on Qbank/UW roughly equate to 230? 240? I realize no one here has a definitive answer but if anyone has already taken the Step 1s and would like to provide some of their own experience I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Heh, I was actually gonna post a thread on this one. I was doing pretty crappy on Qbank, according to that link. But then when I did the free NBME exam, this thing translated my score to a 239. This is great for me, but I dont want to get my hopes up if my score is being overestimated.

Did you guys generally find that score estimator to be accurate? And which one of those criteria would you say is most indicative of your actual step 1 score?

well the score conversion can't be disputed that much because its based off of a database of people who took the test already. of course, its only an estimate - but it's better than nothing. the only way to really know how you're doing is to do an NBME test. but i think an average of your last 300 qbank questions would be closer to your real score than the free 150 released questions (but that doesn't say that either of them are a good measure of what you're gonna get, just that qbank is a better estimate).

Keep in mind if you use another question bank besides Kaplan the score estimator doesn't really work, since it is based off other people's Kaplan scores. So say you do USMLE World, which everyone says is a gut buster, and you're in the mid 60's, you're probably doing around 70's on Kaplan (just from what I gather reading other people's).
