Hi guys, I'm applying this cycle (2015) to dental school but I'm really nervous about my DAT scores. I didn't do well at all and I'm retaking it but of course I'm scared of scoring the same. Are my current scores good enough to get in anywhere?

AA 18
PAT 18
QR 14 :'(
BIO 19
OG 17
GC 18
TS 18
RC 20

GPA: 3.60

Thanks

I think all of your scores are pretty good except for the QR honestly. I say this bc some schools have a minimum cut off of 15 or 16 to even consider you. One of my friends applying last cycle had a 15 on QR and UF asked him to take it again just for that section. Good job otherwise tho! Best of luck

I am curious. What did you use to study for the DAT? And yeah, your scores are decent. You still have a shot of making it in. But I would suggest retaking it and studying a little harder to be a little more competitive.

im sure they are good enough to get in some places, but overall you really need to have a 19 to be competitive. that 14 is dragging you down. I would suggest a retake because I think the AA is getting higher for admittance these days. good luck

Nice scores, obviously the QR Score is standing out, but remember QR is on the bottom of the list of priorities.

And another thing is your GPA the aadsas average or your transcript average?

Either way, still apply...... But to your top 3 or 5 schools as a gamble ;-)

And how was the bio questions on the exam?

Did you get plant questions?
Hormone questions?

What were the best materials for your study?

I mainly used Kaplan DAT as well as schaum's biology and exam krackers. I felt I had it all down pretty well, especially math. I've never had a trouble with it. What I had trouble with that I didn't practice too much was pacing myself. Time caught up to me very quickly and I was suddenly left with 15 mins and 25 questions left. There were plant questions, a lot of xylem and phloem; they want you to know all those tissues very well and no hormone questions for me, although I know those really well. I'm retaking it again, and best new study material is definitely Chad's videos for GC and OC, which I needed alot of help on and DAT Bootcamp hands down. Hope that helps and good luck to all of you!!!!
