I've taken the following tests for Kaplan:

Kaplan Diagnostic , Kaplan Midterm, Kaplan Final, Kaplan 1, Kaplan 2, Kaplan 3
Bio 16 17 19 16 19 19

GC 14 13 15 15 17 13

OC 15 9 14 15 13 12

PAT 19 19 19 22 22 22

RC 18 18 19 21 19 22

QR 11 14 13 19 17 17

TS 15 13 16 15 17 15

AA 15 14 16 17 17 17

I honestly do not know what to do for the chemistries, that is my weakness. I'm doing destroyer (getting about half right) and I've done chad's but I still feel like I cannot do well on the problems. I've got less than 3 weeks to go...I don't know what I should do at this point. This is really worrying me, I have a low GPA and sGPA so I need to do really well...is there anything else I can do for these sections?

By the way, I start Achiever tomorrow. I'm doing a test every other day up until the week of my exam, then I'll be doing a test every day that week. How can I make the most of Achiever?

Did you do the workshops and workshop quizzes for the Kaplan online? (I am assuming you have that since you did the practice tests?) Or the online subject tests? The subject tests are good.

I would suggest using Achiever as a learning tool. Don't take the scores to heart because they are going to be low. Achiever is hard!!

I'm sorry I don't have advice for you.. but I was wondering about the same type of thing-- how do the Kaplan practice tests from the online portion of the class compare to the real DAT? If anyone has been exposed to both and would like to share, it'd be greatly appreciated!! 🙂

I thought the Kaplan subject tests were similar enough. I'd say the real DAT Bio is slightly harder because the Kaplan bio questions are based on info straight out of the Blue Book, which is good but nothing can cover all of bio. As far as the chemistries go, I thought that Kaplan's stuff was more or less right on for OChem and Gchem was easier on the real thing. The subject tests aren't great score predictors though because they focus on chemistry subjects separately. For example, there was one Gchem subject test where a third of the questions were about solubility. Obviously, if that's your weakness, your score is gonna be lower for that one. Overall, it's fairly representative of the difficulty you'll encounter
Kaplan PAT is much easier and Kaplan math has too many word problems and not enough trig.

I was pretty bad at GChem starting out so I went through my notes from Chad's and made 2 pages of all of the formulae, then went through the quizzes again using those sheets, then went through them two more times without. You can't expect to just blow through the videos and then know how to do all of the problems. Familiarize yourself with the principles, do the quizzes, review the ones you missed, do them again, then go back to your Kaplan chem questions.

Yeah you're definitely right, I made detailed notes on his videos but now I'm trying to condense those so that I can re-learn everything and then do the quizzes again, although there doesn't seem to be many quizzes in the ochem sections.. I think I should maybe read KBB on both sections though

I'm trying to complete those a they are very helpful but it takes really long and I want to also get through Destroyer and all these other materials, I feel like there is not enough time in the day :scared:

Use all the time you currently have to the max. Your RC, Bio, and PAT are looking okay (although I'd watch out because Kaplan PAT angles are way too easy) but you need to work on the chems. Don't just read notes. Do more practice in each specific area and figure out what works. You must plan a schedule for each day. Open up a planner and write out when you will do all of this. Go back to Chad's and learn your stuff. Those scores say you are not ready to be taking practice tests. You must learn the material before you can gauge your progress. Give yourself time to go through Destroyer 2 or 3 times. It will be painful, but trust me it is necessary. And if you can't schedule this and need more time, just postpone. It is not a big deal. Also, Achiever science sections are crap...no one scores well in them so be careful. Only use it as more practice, perhaps for timing. But, you must go back and learn the basics of the Chem's by practicing a question of each type and reading up with Chad. Best of luck!!! 👍
...you don't have to rush the learning because you are eager to get to the practice books. Just plan it ...give yourself a week or two to really learn the material from Chad (reading and practice), 10 days to do Destroyer (twice).etc...whatever works. Plan each day and you won't be so anxious!!

Thanks guys for the advice, I took a few days to brush up on the chems. I took the first Achiever test today and this is what I got:

BIO 17
GC 17
OC 15
PA 17
RC 17
QR 16
TS 17
AA 16

And this is having run out of time in all sections... Kind of weird compared to the Kaplan scores

For Chem:

After I am done with Kaplan online sources (score around 16, 17 for both). I hit Destroyer hard and got 21 GC and OC on the real one.
