Scoring scale different in ADA sample test 2007 and 2009

I compared the scale they have in the back of the sample test for the 2009 (bought) one and the 2007 free one available on the ADA website. A 29/40 in QR is a 20 according to the 2007 one, but a 17 according to the 2009 one.

Do the scales vary for each test or did they just change the scale? Thanks.

The scales vary, since it is based on percentiles and how well people do that day or month.

i think the scores actually vary according to how people did on that version of the test. Someone can get all correct in a section and get 30 in one version while another gets 28 although they got all right in another.
