I have an interview with a local scribe company tomorrow.
What should I know/prepare for the interview?
What should I wear/ Suit?

Suit is unnecessary. Business casual is acceptable...that's what I wore to mine. Be prepared to answer questions about why you're interested in it, describing clinical experiences, typical interview questions.

That's pretty much it! Is it an independent situation or are you contracted through a company like ScribeAmerica? I had a pretty casual 20 minute interview. Nothing to sweat. They're not there to grill you. These jobs are in high demand because most people doing them are like us...just for a year until they apply to med school. Hopefully I'll get accepted from one of my MD interviews this month, but if not I have a job lined up for 2016!

It's at one of those bigger scribe companies. I submitted my app and I got an interview invite for the same week like the next day, good sign?

Goood luck on the acceptances, you'll know soon enough ;0

Thanks! That's how it happened for me too. As I said, these positions are not particularly hard to get. I've never heard of someone being rejected from one...I'm sure you'll be fine.

They care that you're gonna show up, work hard, and not leave for med school in 4 months. Hopefully you can earnestly state you plan to work for >1.5 years and have an open schedule, good typing skills, and are easy to get along with.

These positions aren't that hard to get. Haven't you ever had a job interview?

No not really, I pretty much grew up like a king with house servants and everything. I hope i don't come off as dingus during interview lul

Should i mention availability if they don't bring it up?

Here are 3 standard questions IMO....1) if a physician asks you to help move a patient what do you do? 2) if 5 critical patients present within 5 minutes..how would you approach charting in this situation? 3) what's the role of a scribe in the context of the medical team?

And yes..If your availability is wide open..let them know as thatll be a factor in the hiring process should this placement be competitive.

Adopt me..... I can clean like a boss. Anyways, I recently had a scribe interview. You gotta have a flexible schedule, show commitment to LEARN medicine, have work ethics, and a sense of responsibility. I came into my interview with a button up, top button left open. I had khaki pants and Sperry shoes with no socks. I did wear cologne, a refreshing one (Kenneth Cole T-shirt). Don't wear anything strong like Abercrombie Fierce, though it's good.....I wouldn't recommend it for an interview.

Scribes get paid near minimum wage for long, irregular shifts and no breaks.

Just show you're a dependable hard working individual.
