I'm trying to decide between Scripps College and Harvard extension post bac programs. I was admitted to both programs, but I'm looking at the cost and benefits of each program. Scripps College tuition is $23000 per year vs. Harvard at $825 per course. The advantage of going to Scripps College are the small classes, linkage program, 100% acceptance rate and the 7 page recommendation letter from the faculty. I would like some input regarding the quality of the recommendation letters from Harvard Extension, if it's worth taking a chance on Harvard Extension.

Personal bias here. Go to Scripps because its sunny California vs. freezing cold Massachusetts😉.

Really either way it'll cost a lot, you may want to consider other things such as weather (see above), housing, and overall happiness. Considering if you do well at Scripps, you will get into a school, and the amount paid for Scripps and med school can be paid back...(e.g: there is light at the end of the tunnel). Where as Harvard Ext, it may not work out too well despite doing good in coursework, and you are a few grand in the hole. Don't listen to me though, listen to where you will be happy. If you're happy in MA, go there. Happiness = motivation = doing well in school.

:luck:

If you are a capable student you will have just as good a shot at medical school by doing well at HES as anywhere else. Basically all you are doing is paying an extra $20,000 for a linkage. HES has no linkage, so as long as you have the money and sure you will be able to take advantage of that linkage, why not do that?

I decided to go to Scripps College, it's hard to leave California and live in the cold. Even if the sun is distracting, at least I'll be warm. 😎

Congrats on getting accepted. It's a tough program to get into! Mind posting your stats?
