Absolutely!! I really can't picture myself as one of those dentists that dresses up everyday and wears a white coat over their nice clothes. Not when I have the opportunity to wear almost-PJs to work everyday!! 😀

anyone else excited about the opportunity to wear scrubs for the rest of your professional life?!

It gets a little old after a while.

Yorkiepoo, I like your yorkie pix. Your baby is real cute. How old is he/she?

Has anyone heard of buying fitted scrubs? I am tall and thin. The generic scrubs don't work at all for me.

i don't really like scrubs, i probably won't wear them in my practice

I'm still waiting for it to get old after 10 years of scrubs as my primary attire. Then again, I don't just wear plain scrubs, but multi-colored prints and sports team logo scrubs!

I definately don't mind wearing sneakers and glorified PJ's to work each day😀:banana::biglove:

go to allheart.com, a few of the vendors make scrubs specifically designed for tall and thin. I bought from White Swan and they fit perfectly.

I guess I'm an oddball, but I don't really like scrubs. I just feel dumpy in them. I would much rather wear a shirt and tie like I did at my old job.

Although sneaks definitely beat out dress shoes 100% of the time. Think I could get away with a tie and a pair of airwalks?

At my school, scrubs are basically the uniform. It's nice because you can go to the gym, run around the track in them.

They have got to come up with better material for scrubs. Like a Clima-Cool version. The stuff sticks to you after a game of racquetball. Its gross. But the good thing is scrubs dry fast.

I plan to suit up when I get outta D-school.

I don't miss ironing, but I do miss looking sharp. You can find dress shoes that feel like your wearing tennis shoes.

I'm totally going to wear matching chucks with my scrubs. The high top variety, of course.

my ecco dress shoes look awesome and feel like a ferarri for my feet.

I <3 scrubs... so comfortable. The only problem is finding ones that fit (kinda tall and thin) and arent made of recycled cardboard

I too AM NOT excited about scrubs. What a monotonous way to live life. Business attire/ business casual under my lab coat is the way to go. Way too much clothes out there to miss out on just b/c of scrubs 🙄

Just wait until you ruin your first couple of pairs of pants with Sodium Hypochlorite splatter while doing an endo😱. You're view on scrubs might change a little😀

I wish I could have hospital scrubs, those things have been washed so many times. MMMMMMM Soft

I, too, was excited to wear scrubs everyday before starting dental school. Now, I look forward to the days that I don't have gross lab so I can dress up.

Trust me, wearing scrubs gets old. It's very unoriginal. I dress up whenever I get the chance or don't wake up 5 minutes before class! 😀

jb!🙂

The clear answer is to crossbreed the tuxedo t-shirt with a pair of scrubs.

Nothing classier

Hi.

Can someone tell me what the dress codes are for most schools, or uconn?

also, are there any scrubs available that fit a little better than the sloppy ones I have encountered? Better material?

Thanks!

For the tops I don't know if there are any. As for pants there are some cargos which have 5 pockets and an elastic waste band. Pretty comfy. And allows me to accumulate my daily trash collection in my pocket.

I used to think scrubs were were a cool uniform.

Then I noticed that every time I went into the local 7-11that other folks were also wearing scrubs. For example, the nursing home housekeeping staff, the lady that clips dog hair, the kitchen staff of the local school, the local child care center workers and other "non-skilled job type" people have also discovered scrubs.

The I decided to set myself apart and were a shirt and tie. (Just like my father the industrial management guy.)

wearing scrubs is nice because you dont have to pick out clothes but it really isnt that cool

Do a lot of dentists these days still wear scrubs to work? All the ones I have shadowed/worked for wear slacks and a white lab coat.

For me, scrubs lost their luster after the first month, but as those before reported it sucks to ruin nice clothes with an acrylic spill (like I did). The ones that were made for our school sucked (fit like ****, fell apart after so many washes) so I bought some through eBay that were durable, comfortable, and somewhat flattering. The brand name is FashionSeal and I still wear the 5 sets that I bought in d-school (at a very reasonable price). Personally, I would rather dress nice, but did so usually on days that I wasn't planning on doing any lab work.
