SCRUBS Article

Pretty much every doc I've talked to who has watched this show agrees.

too funny--an ER resident I once shadowed told me that Scrubs was by far the most accurate representation of life as a doctor.

easily my favorite show both medically themed and otherwise. Shame what happened to that 9th season though.

What ninth season? There's no ninth season! It never existed! Scrubs ended with J.D. walking down the hallway seeing everyone from the show flash by!!! (keep saying it over and over and you'll eventually manage to believe it)

exactly!👍

Yay, that's the only one I watch (+ the occasional Royal Pains). I always felt bad I wasn't interested in House, Grey's, Nurse Jackie, or whatever else. But now I don't 🙂

House is fun, but I don't watch it as a medical show. I watch it as a drama that happens to have (completely over the top) medical references in it. Kinda like Royal Pains with a pissed off doctor instead of a happy one.

"It's not Grey's Anatomy, a torrid romance novel disguised as a medical show."

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

This made me so happy! I've been a scrubs addict since my freshman year of college thanks to my obsessed roomie!

It took me awhile, but I rewatched scrubs in its entirety (including season 9  ). I hope to again sometime. Far and away my favorite show of all time.

Scrubs is on Netflix -- all 18x episodes. FYI. Sorry for killing your productivity.

Just saying, I think the Janitor's real name is Josh:

In "My Manhood", Janitor speaks to Dr. Cox that he says "Now I've been called a great many horrible names in my life. Backstabber. Zebra-poacher. Josh! And I've accepted these, because to each of them there is a degree of truth. But, I am not nor will I ever be stupid."

It's actually Glenn Matthews. He revealed it during the Season 8 finale.

Yes, Netflix has been my friend... my boss went on vacation for a week and I blasted through Seasons 1-3 while he was gone... And I think that this INCREASES productivity. 🙂

AMEN. 👍

It's actually Glenn Matthews. He revealed it during the Season 8 finale.

In the Season 8 finale he tells J.D. that his name is Glenn Matthews;[7] "My Finale" was previously intended to be the series finale, in which the Janitor's real name would be revealed. When J.D. asks why the Janitor is only revealing his name now, the Janitor points out that J.D. has never before asked what his name is, and proves that J.D. has already forgotten it. However just a few seconds later, someone else walks by and calls the janitor by a different name. According to Bill Lawrence on the bonus disc of the complete series, the Janitor's name is indeed Glenn Matthews.

I always interpreted that scene as a tease, showing the audience that he was still a pathological liar. It appears that you're right though.

Side note: the show Cougar Town (also by Bill Lawrence) had Ted show up in this season's finale. He's living in Hawaii and has a reputation of being able to make any song sound depressing. And yes, it's the same Ted, not just the same actor. Won't tell you why he's there and depressed because it's a bit of a spoiler.

The best part about that episode was that when the Janitor dressed up as the ghost, it was completely random in the episode. It didn't happen right after the scene where he talked about his hot and scratchy tonsils.

Almost all of my favorite moments involve the Janitor.

"Are you insane?"
"I'm a little bit tired. I was up all night learning to rollerblade."

or my all time favorite gem from season 1.

"You look unhappy...I like that."

Thumbs up for the article, 👍

LOL yeah, the hot and scratchy part was a couple of minutes into the episode and the ghost bit was near the end. I must have watched this scene about 15 times when I first saw it and it's become one of those 'go-to' jokes between my kids and me.

👍 Me too, I actually love House, Hugh Laurie is the best. Obviously any doctor that acted like House would be fired, but it's still a great show.

Scrubs is definitely the best though!
