Does anyone know where to get medical scrubs? Any websites or stores that sell cheap scrubs?

I'm pretty sure that Google knows some places that do.

Scrubs? I hate them! I can wear them to work, but I refuse to.
Warning: they will make you fat. If/when you gain a little weight, you don't notice it in scrubs. You can't sense the shape of your body when you wear them, ie you don't feel fat. Think about those drug reps and their catered lunches with pizza, sandwiches, cookies, chips, etc. Before you know it, you'll be as big as a house.
Scrubs = 👎

Wal-mart used to have unisex scrubs; around $8 per piece. Get pants with an elastic band because the kind with the drawstring is a PITA.

Scrubs are great. Getting paid for working while wearing pajamas beats professional wear every day of the week.

There are stores in every city that sell scrubs. If you are in a small town maybe not, but they have to supply hospitals some how! It depends on the brand how expensive they are. As said above, Wal-mart has cheap scrubs but not every Wal-mart carries them. They always have stuff like that on ebay, and there are a few other sites around.

I agree on hating scrubs. I have really long legs, so I went out to buy extra longs (of course they are more expensive!). Still not long enough so I feel very awkward with my short pants. I like the top though with all the pockets...lol.

find a friend in the linen department.
nothing is more comfortable that hospital issued scrubs.

That whole tie thing is absurd. However, the point about scrubs having shorter sleeves is relative and ridiculous. People can just wear long sleeves under their scrubs or a jacket on top. We all know how cold hospitals are, so I think the only difference between dress clothes and scrubs is the tie. Would it be more hygienic if we just worn shorts? How about mini skirts and tank tops? The less clothing that could cross contaminant germs the better, right? NO!
I hate scrubs. They should come up with something better. Maybe I'll invent a new uniform. After working at a facility with 500 beds, outpatient clinics, medical offices, etc., I've never seen more obese people working together in my life. There could be other factors at play, but that's the connection that I draw. I guess the ICEE machines could have something to do with it, 🙄.

At my university, the bookstore sells them. A bunch of places online sells them, especially, if you go through some of the nursing supply magazines.

Actually the tie thing is for real. And I can think of less clothing being desirable in many different situations, but not so in healthcare..since our skin harbor flora that may be harmful for immunocompromised patients. There are reasons why scrub is an accepted garment in OR.

And I can attest that ties are washed very very infrequently... and can cause significant issues towards infection control. I vote yes on scrubs.

I'm sure you'll look great scrubs too.

I meant that the tie thing is absurd, because the retail pharmacies chains still require men to wear them. I agree that they're gross and shouldn't be worn.

FYI: I was fifteen pounds heavier in scrubs. Thankfully, I've been able to keep it off.

Well, that's a community setting...no issues with nosocomial bugs and patient contact.

It's just an appearance thing, and in a professional setting outside a hospital, I think guys look slick in a necktie 😉

getting back to the question at hand, dickies has good scrubs

Yeah...sorry to get sidetracked. I've bought some at http://www.allheart.com/ (the NFL ones are cool) and at a Uniform Advantage store @ the mall. If you sign up for their e-mails, they'll send you coupons too.

Dickies are very nice and heavy. Gelscrubs are super super soft and fits well. Walmart and cheapie scrubs are harsh and don't fit well. Hospital issue scrubs are nice and soft. I have 2 pairs of scrubs from 1991 where I was an intern.. I still wear it.

Wow this thread is the epitomy of laziness....Did someone really start a thread asking where to get scrubs or did I read it wrong...How about some more dumb questions.....

Where do I get baloney....

Where can I buy oil for my car....

Does anyone know where I can buy shoes....

How do I go to the bathroom I forgot......

If they get ahold of your e-mail address at all, they will send you spam forever. I opted out and am still getting junk.

Hmm..really? I opted out and haven't gotten anything from them in a long time. But I always use a separate account (other than my personal one) when signing up for coupons 🙂

Sorry if it is a dumb question but I got some great responses and now have an idea of what I am looking for. THanks peoples.

*bump*

I had to wear scrubs on Friday! The end is near...my physique will slowly spin down the toilet. I sincerely hate them. Sick!

-😛 I have 600 posts!

How did you get 600 posts so fast?!?!?! I have been lurking around here since 2004 and I only have 400 posts. I suppose I would have more posts if I actually had someting useful to say.

I've just made this site a part-time hobby, actually it was a full-time hobby during the summer when I had nothing else to do. I had just moved to the Big Easy, so all of my friends still lived in Baton Rouge or Lake Charles, and I was at home by myself during the day. There were only so many places I could go shopping, you know? 😛

Right now, I check it during the day, and I post in the morning or at night. School comes before work, and work comes before SDN. SDN only comes before sleep. I stay up later now to bs online.

You could rack up more posts if you wanted to, but it doesn't really matter. I can tell you're a veteran just by your startdate. You have a useful perspective. All of us can't worship the retail chains, so it's your job to discount the enthusiasm.

Chit that doesn't stop me....

PharmDStudent - I don't like scrubs either and think they are not flattering at all. But, I found these, and they're really cute and look different from your standard scrub. the matching pants I found are cute too.

Those are cute. Thanks! I'll probably have to get a pair. My current scrubs are baggy and very unflattering, because I've lost about 20 lbs since the last time I had to wear them. It's been almost a year.
Thanks again for being my shopping buddy!

LOL... At least that's one thing I'm good for. I do love to shop!! 😉

I don't work in a hospital right now. My IPPE is at a closed pharmacy.
