I have seen a GI doc adopt scrubs as his daily attire even on non-scoping days in the office. I have seen a neurologist who does injections similar to PM&R wear scrubs for his procedure day.

I have also seen psychiatrists wear some pretty informal, non-professional
clothing that begs the question:
1) Are scrubs more professional than some of these outfits practicing psychiatrists are wearing?
2) Can it be acceptable and professional for a psychiatrist to wear scrubs, and if so in what settings?

I've seen psychiatrists in the psych ER wear scrubs.

I'm full-time in a pretty "rough and tumble" Psych Emerg Service, and it's common for docs here to wear a polo and dockers (not permitted to wear scrubs here).
It was common to wear scrubs in the PES where I trained, esp when on duty 24 hrs on weekends.
