wow it's been awhile since I've been here but I wanted to see if anyone had any videos / resources on suturing in anchors during SCS implants. I've exclusively been using bos sci's fixate device the last few years but don't have access to one for an upcoming medtronic implant, and will need to secure the anchors the old fashioned way.

Medtronic anchor is easy. I dissect down to thoracodorsal fascia, place the lead through Tuohy, make a small stab incision where the Tuohy vanishes into fascia, throw an Ethibond around the Tuohy before pulling it out, pull Tuohy, deploy the anchor, and then with Medtronic it is just the ribbed tube without eyelets that you wrap the suture around. Abbott and the others with eyelets are much more of a pain. Which is why, as a HOPD guy not bothered by price, I just use Fixate.

Had bad luck with fixate once and had some lead migration. Rep informed me they generally notice more lead migration in patients who had fixate used. Never used it again. Never had an issue again. Not scientific, just my experience.

I’m going to try this next time. I’ve been suturing after deploying the anchors. Thanks
