It's getting to be that time of year again for 4th years. Personal statements, LORs, ERAS application...and the annual plea to current residents to review their program on Scutwork.com. There are many programs with NO 👎 reviews (didn't UVA get a lot of love on this board? 😉 ) and many more with OLD 🙁 reviews. Please help us out as we try to prepare for interview season. :scared:

Thanks. 😎

:luck: And good luck to all who are just starting your residency!

P.S. Do you think I could've fit in one more smiley? 😳

Good for you for pointing this out. You would think that many people would know about scutwork but surprisingly, I've come across quite a few folks who don't know that this resource exists. I think this contributes to the fact that many of the path programs continue to have no evaluations.

On the other hand, most of the existing evaluations of programs are quite generic. I think residents hesitate to post concrete negative points. Sure, in reality, no program is perfect and negative comments should balance out the positive ones to give a balanced view of the program. This helps applicants figure out where they would fit in best. Unfortunately, negative comments may have detrimental effects because think about it...you read a review about anything and you see a negative comment. You zoom in on that, focus on that, and you're probably left with a weird aftertaste and think, hmm, maybe I won't rank that program #1.
