I'm sure most of you have noticed the new link at the top of the forum. Well, if you've ignored it so far, I urge you to go and check it out! If you have a chance, go and ask some questions you've seen a lot, or that you've been wondering about yourself. Let's help get the ball rolling, since this will later be a great way to avoid having to explain, again, what someone should major in as a pre-vet student, or whether they have a chance of admission.

Anyway, I think it's neat, and could prove very helpful for all of us. 🙂

Aw, TT. I may do some once my schedule clears up a bit, but I don't want to monopolize the answers 😀

I'd answer some, but being Canadian, a lot of things are different. For example, the only benefit with becoming a tech here is that you get more experience. The only drawback is that your courses don't transfer. Admins don't think any differently of you if you're a tech and decide you want to be a vet.

On the other hand, I get the impression that amercian admins stereotype you for being a tech from what you guys have said on the forum... techs tend to be cocky, are just doing it for the raise, ect. and you have to have a strong defense against that.

I have asked a couple though! 😛

So many of my questions are unanswered, what ever will I do? :d
Oh we're actually supposed to answer them? I thought it was just kind of a storage base for "here's a bunch of commonly asked questions, here's the answers". Basically the FAQ but with a whole forum dedicated to it.

Do they have to be useful answers? Cause I have lots of answers for lots of things (everything!), just sometimes they're not so relevant.

I think it's like Yahoo answers. Other people answer and you vote on which ones are good 😛

ok, so we can ask the questions too? because id love to ask the ones that i see all the time and i hate seeing them asked haha

That's what I did, though I think the same old crop of questions will still come up, because really, what else is there to talk about? Plus people like to talk with others instead of reading static material that was chiseled long ago.

that place is addicting. it reminds me of yahoo questions. when i go to yahoo questions i just can't stop reading the questions and answering things i know lol but i really need to study. so i must go. 🙁

Even if you don't want to answer, you can still go vote on the best questions and answers.

I'm pretty sure that you can also ask more specific questions there, as well. However, we're mostly covering the big FAQs right now (so that when people ask here, they can be directed there easily).

I also asked a few on the veterinary section, mostly about internships and residencies. Don't be shy about going to that section as well!

whoever down voted one of my questions--you're a jerk. i posted questions to help the pre-vets and i guarantee once interviews start everyone will want to know the answer to the question i posted 😡 😛

Lol I've been voted down too. Don't take it personally, lol. Remember that everyone can vote on any section (medical, dental, vet, podiatry, etc.) so you don't know who is doing it.

I think that people are wanting to avoid really specific questions about schools - the pre-med section has all kinds of ******ed stuff in there already. It may have been that someone who isn't vet didn't realize how different Edinburgh is from other places.

Or, you know, whatever one they voted down - I think I'm remembering things correctly.

my question was about the multiple mini interviews, which WILL get asked once VMRCVM interviews get sent out lol. also, med students have MMI's too and it is always asked. so, whoever voted me down sucks. U SUCKKK! lol

Lol. I bet it was a med person who doesn't know that VMRCVM is the only oddball school that does that. Don't worry about it, and don't yell about it here - they'll never read it anyway. :d

my question is no longer -1 lol thanks guys! 😀
