hrm since i my studying for my histology test is slowing down i keep coming up with ideas that would be neat to start.

anyways would anybody be interested in compiling an SDN DAT average for the people that applied this year ?

then we can do another later for acceptance.

let me know if this is stupid idea.

If you would like to do this please either pm your scores or list them here. In this fashion to make it easier on my calculations

DAT PAT
DAT AA
DAT TS

for my case

I doubt you'll ever get a huge response, and then it won't be representative of all of SDN.

people who make higher are more apt to talk about it than someone who scored low.

By the way I have a histo final tomorrow...comprehensive and all essay...good times

yea its a good idea, it won't represent everyone, but it will give an idea of what types of people got in with what or if haven't gotten in yet what they have now and what future DAT's and GPA's will look like.

mine is only on male, female repoduction, lungs, ear and eye

but we have a microscopic practical also.

i need to get a 90 to get an A in the course so i am bit nervous

you could do an anonymous poll, then maybe people wouldn't be shy about responding. then at the end you could average it up.

Mine's Tuesday and covers Ear, Eye, Male, Female, Endocrine, and Kidney.

The scope portion is cumulative which isn't going to be fun. Oh well.

This stats question has been brought up plenty of times.
I'd say the average here at SDN is in 20's.

For the future, use Search feature before you make a new thread.

I might sound like the oddball...
but histology is an awesome class

we just made some fantastic slides!

I did a search and did an avg of SDN DAT scores:

AA: 26
TS: 24
PA: 23

Yeah it seems low, but hey maybe next years pool can bring these sorry numbers up.

😉

the thread that i did find a while back is from last years with averages being fairly high. i think if results are done again we would find about the same but i think we can get more people to partcipate b/c more people use sdn, and thus the averages will down to earth again

People on here need to calm down. They think having 18 across is the worst possible thing in the world

About histo...my prof went to Johns Hopkins for his PhD...I just got back from an all essay final...it was pretty bad. He loves to torture us, I mean really what professor has an all essay test covering comprehensive physiology with an emphasis on excretory, reproductive, GI tract, Muscle and Nerve?? Lab practical is Wednesday...the fun never ends. I have talked to a few dental students....all their tests are multiple choice, so whats the point? Dont get me wrong its great preparation, but its a bit much...I thought grad programs wanted you to get the highest grade possible.

We tried to make lab slides a few weeks ago (mouse) with the microtome and went through all the steps with sectioning and staining, etc...but it didnt work...all those weeks we spent doing that and we couldnt use the slides...the poor mice.

Dr. Midget, I happen to be one of those people...try to think before you post.

grad programs want you to learn the material.. those dental/medical stuff they just want to run you through the material
thats the difference 🙂
