My thanks and thoughts of SDN:
SDN is probably the greatest resource out there (along with Destroyer) to do well on the DAT. The more time and the more you get involved in this message board the better your outcome on the DAT will be. From my experience I found that SDN gives you the best of both worlds, people that can "tutor" you with the right answers to questions you have in a matter of minutes. Also a lot of people post tests 😉 that are just as good as achiever or topscore, with even BETTER explanations to answers. So this is why I believe SDN is one of the greatest resources out there for those studying for the DAT.

GET INVOLVED PEOPLE!!!! ITS YOUR FUTURE!!!!

yea SDN is a good resource but a big Con is when everyone posts something like the frap test and how the RC is so difficult. when i saw the frap question i'm like crap...my heart juss sank. if i never knew about SDN and the "frap" test i'm pretty sure i wouldn't do as bad especially on the RC section. just my thoughts...

Completely agree. When I was going through the bio section I was just hoping not to see that question. Even if it isn't too hard of an RC passage you are already psyched out before you even get there. You could screw up on GC, OC, and PAT just in anticipation of it. Also this board is dang addicting. Hard to study for extended periods of time when you got this bookmarked.

dang it.... that's why I am on it now... kk

I'm glad that I didn't find SDN until after I took my DAT because I would have spent all of my time checking the forum instead of studying. Haha, no but seriously it is a great resource and I think we should find a way to get the word out about the site.

yes, you are right, but when you are studying hardcore, SDN is kinda relief. today, I started at 9 AM, I could review around 500 bio tests and I am doing my organic from kaplan online, ( 2 of them is finished with reiviews)
it is good to know whats going around.

Err... yeah. I should definitely be studying right now.. but look at me, back on SDN. 😳 oops.

I think it is good for giving you an idea of where you need to be scoring, what resources to use (I never would've known about Achiever, TopScore, Crack, or Destroyer without sdn!), etc. But the frap stuff is intimidating. I keep trying to get my boyfriend on here though, he is committed to *only* using Kaplan for the MCAT! eek!

Wow, he actually found his way onto sdn tonight!! 👍 Without my prompting!

Sorry.. had to tell you guys.. only you all would understand!!

youre definitely right, knowing about this site creates an advantage. it would be nice if everyone had an equal opportunity. im from texas, and i dont ever see many people on here from the south. it seems like everyone up north and in cali are more aware of this site... maybe ill make it my mission to spread the word down here....

unfortunately, when more ppl find out about this site & begin using it regularly, DAT scores will increase & the competition will become more fierce. it's a sick double-edged sword.

I found this site well before i took my DAT's and it helped me relieve some stress and get an answer when i was studying and didnt know something. Also answering questions helps you to learn and know the stuff better so i always loved an intelligent quetion which are quite frequent on here. When I made a mistake someone always jumped on me and i knew i had to review something within minutes. SDN is a great resource and here in New York, i think pretty much most of the Dental applicants know of this site. Just gotta say thank you to everyone here that was always willing to help. No need to name names, you know who you are.

I can't even remember how I found this site.. I just remember reading it and going "What does RC, QR, and LoR stand for??" 😳 I don't know any other pre-dents at my school (though that number is very small) or pre-meds that are on sdn.

It is kind of nice that the whole pre-dental applicant pool isn't on here.. just because it would take a thousand years to wade through the forums. Plus you'd never get to know people because there'd be just too many. I like being able to recognize the people responding to posts. 🙂
