SDN is working on developing a news and columns section, in an effort to produce unique site content.

http://www.studentdoctor.net/news/

Are there any topics that SDN's pharmacy community would like to see addressed? Articles can be about an individual, organization, school, event, policy, process, issue, or anything else pharmacy or healthcare related.

Banana,

I don't see pharmacy as a category (when I can actually SEE it - the print is soooo small), so I don't know if these are pre-done categories or the category develops as the new articles arrive to be placed....

Anyway...it does seem as though there should be news about the new drugs which the public have lots of questions about & are particularly linked with controversial side-items. Specifically, I'm thinking about Gardisil & Plan B. These are not only new (well...not Plan B) but its access is new. They are also inappropriately linked with "morality", but very timely for the majority of the age group reading these threads.

The writer must be objective though......

Plan D is of interest....but only to pharmacists & perhaps practicing IM or FP's.

I may think of other topics later....

Baxter Healthcare recently announced the emergence of a new business division called Regenerative Medicine. This corporate R&D program uses CD-34 adult stem cells to treat cardiac ischemia, with the potential application for other cardiovascular and ischemic conditions. In addition, because of the unique properties of these CD-34 cells, they are in the early stages of exploring their broader use in tissue and organ repair and regeneration.

Not Pharmacy specific, but more applicable to all SDN users.
