Hello all! I recently asked the programme co-ordinator of one of my top choices if I could return for a second look. Part of it was to show interest and appear more hardcore, but part of it was genuinely to help with my decision vs. my other top choice.

Originally she recommended I go on their didactic day. However the travel plans don't work out well for that day since it's in the middle of the week and I'm coming in from the opposite side of the country. The programme co-ordiantor says I can come on any day I like in that case, but asks, "What were you hoping to see or do?" Um....😛 Any recommendations that are reasonable and won't be too much trouble for a programme?

a request to tag along with residents on work rounds, or to show up at an attending's teaching rounds, are not unreasonable lunch with one or two residents could be good too

the places that I went on a second look had a schedule for me when I showed up. As I was interested in child psych, I wanted to spend more time learning about those programs on the 2nd look. I also used it as time to check out the city a little more closely.

So, a suggestion would be to ask more about specific interests you have and speak with people at the program you didn't get to interact with on your interview. You might want to ask to spend a few hours rounding with the inpt team.
