How does this work?

1). Does the applicant set one up?
or
2). Does the program invite the applicant for a second look?

I've asked at my top choice, and they said to just schedule a date with the coordinator. Haven't heard of programs asking interviewees back yet so far this year.

do you think that the one that emailed you was basically offering a spot? How did you approach it, meaning what would a 2nd look tell you that you couldn't tell on a 1st look? If I want a program to know that I am very interested, is that the best way to let them know? I've gone on enough interviews though.......
