Who is your IS? Overall WSU is extremely difficult to get into OOS to the Pullman campus, the Logan campus is not as bad since you can't switch residency. Overall your cum GPA is a bit low based on their admissions tiers, but I am not really sure how they may or may not factor in your masters GPA. They do like to see EVERYTHING. Like kyaking? add it. Hike? add it too. They really like versatile applicants so get involved in anything you can and add anything you have done. I don't believe WSU is considering GRE this cycle. We also have a new director for admissions so things might change a little on the admissions formula persay. I think your explanation statement will work in your favor showing your improvement. I think your hours are good and diverse. I would also reconsider CSU just because of the sheer number of applicants they get and special consideration for cut off cumGPA of 3.2 and less. Unless it's your IS I would reconsider. I would also suggest reconsidering WSU unless it's your IS just because the statistics are against you, but if you did get into the Pullman campus would be cheaper than most places. I do think IL and KS are great options for your application. I'm available via pm if you have additional questions about WSU (I may be slow to respond though because of 4th year). Good luck!

I'll second that Illinois is a solid school to apply to with your application. Frankly, your application was better than mine. If you reconsider CSU and WSU, check out the AAVMC public data as well as this site to find schools that focus more on experience/last 45 GPA and/or have more favorable OOS acceptance trends

Missouri is my IS - they were actually very blunt with me about having low chances of getting in. Essentially told me that I don't have a chance until I can use a 6-year academic elimination option for my freshman year classes. I've debated pulling WSU and CSU off of my list - the last cycle, I did make it past the CSU initial review for cuGPA <3.2.

What about Minnesota and/or Lincoln Memorial?

My cGPA was roughly the same as yours but I had a higher last 45. I used the explanation statement and had several acceptances. I’d be happy to send you my statement or critique yours if that would be helpful 🙂

I'd have to take a different organic chemistry course for MN. My BA only required a single semester course, not the series. My BS didn't require either. They require 3 credit hours in a "non-terminal" organic chemistry sequence and their admissions office was firm on that requirement.
