Hey guys!

I had a quick question, I applied a week ago and it was my first time. I was planning on heading out of the country for maybe 3 weeks and was wondering if that would be a good idea. I know interviews are kinda soon (or are they?) but could you guys give me some input of what I should do? Go or don't go

Okay, when do interviews generally start? I know its not now, just wondering.

Also, do secondaries have a specific deadline?

The earliest ones usually start in August. Secondaries have deadlines and they vary by school. You want to send them in ASAP if you can.

It's not on AADSAS. Go to each school's website that you applied to and see what their instructions are.

i am aware they have due dates but the sooner submitted the better right?
mt aadsas is complete im just waiting on one more transcript to be received, its taking forever. can i do these things overseas?

also, what is the difference between supplemental applications vs secondaries.

I see you have been accepted to midwestern, congrats on that 🙂
I was searching there website, I couldn't seem to find info on their supplemental applications

There is no difference. Different name for the same thing.

And thank you! MWU AZ sends you their supplemental when they are ready for you to fill it out. It's all online and you pay online as well.

If I remember correctly, out of the 12 schools I applied to, I received a supplemental from all 12 (even though not all schools sent every applicant a supplemental) and had to send in stuff right after esubmitting my AADSAS for only 3 schools (NYU, Penn, and one other?). All of the rest just emailed me when they were interested.

Have you already esubmitted? If not, do whatever you need to get your application ready to esubmit.

This verification takes 4-6 weeks once your app is totally done. Then, your app has to get mailed by AADSAS. This is where the "batches" come in.

Here is something I posted in another thread:

I've been doing some light reading (aka stalking all of your posts) since this app cycle started and I think a lot of you are severely underestimating how long everything takes. So here is a super basic timeline of how this whole shebang goes:

1. You log into AADSAS, get your transcript matching form, send them off to your CCs/undergrad/grad schools, and then AADSAS gets them and tells you that they have them.
   
   1. Time: depends on how fast your CC/undergrad/grad school moves. Even so, expect at least a week - 2 weeks... especially as you start getting later into the application cycle.
2. Your application is done and you click "esubmit". Your GPA now needs to get verified.
   
   1. Time: 4-6 weeks. Again, the further you are in the application cycle, the closer it will be to the 6 weeks. If your transcripts are not in, it will also take longer
3. You get the message from AADSAS that your GPA is verified and your app is ready to be mailed! It is then mailed.
   
   1. Time: they seem to be mailed mostly on Fridays. So expect a week or so.
4. Your app is mailed by AADSAS and now you are getting supplementals/secondaries (take your pick on the name).
   
   1. Time: depends on the school you are applying to. Some schools have you send them stuff first, some schools send you something right away, some schools will take some time to review your app before sending you supplemental. So expect anything from 0 days to months. In my personal experience, I had all of my supplementals within 3-4 weeks of my app being mailed.
5. Your supplementals are in and you are now waiting for interviews.
   
   1. Time: no way to tell. Just relax and hope for the best
