Secondaries held for MCAT scores?

I know some schools screen before sending their secondaries (like NYU, according to their website). And I was wondering if they wait for August scores to be released before they make their decision?

I sent my first round in early september and have not gotten secondaries from several of the screening schools. I'm hoping that my grades are good enough that I wouldn't be dismissed out of hand, but is this a case of slow admissions offices or a wait for the MCAT scores?

I got secondaries from Loyola, VCU, and EVMS and I took the August MCAT. Maybe they are just looking at my older MCAT and thinking that is good enough for now (29Q).
