Sorry for another secondaries/mcat question...there's alot of them out there 😳

So I'm thinking of pushing back my mcat date from May 26th to June 16th, which means I'll get my scores back on July 19th rather than in June. My question is for those who submitted a complete application around mid-July, did you receive all/most of your secondaries in a month (by mid-August)? My schedule's going to get really hectic starting then, so I would like to have my secondaries done...I do realize that a lot of schools don't screen, so i guess I'm more concerned about the ones that do.

And also, might as well ask, would there be a big disadvantage in terms of having the score come in a couple weeks later? I plan on submitting my primary late june/early july.

Thanks for your help

I did something similar to this last year. Since I submitted late July, my AMCAS wasn't complete until mid-August (one of the worst 6 week waits of my life while I read that everyone else was getting things from schools). Just something to keep in mind that might push back secondaries. Try to get the AMCAS in earlier so that it's just waiting for your MCAT score.

Although I have yet to go through the process myself, the general consensus around here seems to be that there is no reason to wait until late June / early July - with the exception of your pending MCAT score, you should submit everything you have the day AMCAS opens up. That way, when you do receive your MCAT score your app will be complete, with no worry of being delayed further due to verification.

I can't comment on how long it takes to receive a secondary once a school receives your primary.
