Do majority of med schools send secondaries after screening out in the primary or do they just send secondaries to almost everyone (above 3.0 27 mcat for example)? And is there enough filtering in the primary? It would suck to write secondaries for all the schools that barely filter the first round (i would rather have them filter so that I can write for the ones that i have a good chance at)

Most schools don't filter pre-secondary. A select group do. The ones that come to mind for me are the UCs, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Mayo (sort of - they have a weird system). I'm sure there are more - those are just the ones I'm familiar with.

Emory also "screens" for a 27 MCAT with 7 subsections. Rush has the same MCAT cutoff with 3.0 GPA, and 150 hours in each of clinical experience and volunteering (I think those two can overlap).
