Hey guys, next year I will be applying to medical school for the first time. I know the primary application is usually just the personal statement but I would like to know what are the secondaries like? Does every DO school require a secondary? Does it take a long time to complete each secondary?

Thanks a lot!!!🙂

there are secondaries for all schools, but a couple are just send in x dollars (dmu comes to mind). On average they are about the same hassle as MD applications.

The essays are posted in a thread somewhere. I do not have the time to do a search, but you can.

Check out this thread. A new 2008 secondary application thread will probably be made when the new season of applications actually begins - or a little before. Perhaps May or June. In the meantime, the search function works wonders, and you may want to check out the the many links in the sticky's up top or the FAQs up top.

Thanks... that is the link. From what I heard, it doesn't change allot from year to year.

from what i see, i guess most schools dont really ask for more formal essays. they are usually short answers to their questions?

People debate about that on SDN. I usually wrote about 3/4 a page.
