Secondary App Notifications

Do schools primarily notify applicants via email or mail for their secondary applications?
I have a situation this summer where I will spend June and July at my university in New York , the first half of August in Washington (with a parent), and the second half in California (with another parent). I only get the chance to go home(s) once a year so it is important to me to visit both places, but I worry I will miss getting a notification immediately by mail and be delayed in submitting secondary applications.
Is this something to lose sleep about?

Almost all schools send out secondaries via email. Off the top of my head, only Vanderbilt sends out II/secondaries via mail.

Several schools notify by e-mail but still require you to send them in by mail. GW and Downstate come to mind.

Not worth losing any sleep over this. While there may be some exceptions, all of my secondaries were received via email. A few schools required you to mail in a hard copy of your secondary and/or a picture of yourself, but that can be done from anywhere. Enjoy your trip back home!

I'll be returning to Rochester at the beginning of September, if that is at all relevant.
Specifically, I'm concerned that if I submit any one of these places as my mailing address, I could be at either of the other two locations at the time mail regarding the secondary application arrives.

I've gotten mail for interview information and a little booklet advertising the merits of rochester. Everything else has been web based so it shouldn't be an issue.
