I was wondering if anyone has used the instamatic booths for doing their photos. I've had visa photos done in the past, and the quality isn't all that great. I'm trying to save some money since this application stuff is breaking me!

Thanks!

Michelle,

I went to the local CVS which does one hour photos and Passport photos as well. For seven dollars, they gave me 16 pictures (not the prettiest but hey I'm no Brad Pitt) which I have been using on secondaries and for the august MCAT. I made sure to look pitiful so that the committees would take pity and let me in!

Best of luck.

Oh, and the photos were done in five mintues. And sorry for the misspelling of your name.

I bought two passport pictures for $7 and went to kinkos to get them copied onto glossy paper. I got 15 pictures for $2!!! The quality was pretty good too.. pretty cheap and besides its just a picture. I don't think committees will look down on you if you print it on paper.

My wife took a role of film of me standing against a white wall, the quality was much better than the passport photos I spent 10 bucks on and cost the same.

Hrm, I suppose this might be considered one of those hidden costs of applying to medical school! One passport-size photo per application, multiplied by around 20 medical college applications, multiplied again by whatever the cost is for one copy of the photo... and why am I doing this?!

do they have that glossy paper at kinko's? if not, where do u get it? so did u simply use a color xereox machine and copy your photos onto the paper?

I just got two passport photos done and copied them with a color printer at kinkos-worked out a lot cheaper than the cost of 20 passport photos at kinkos (which would have cost almost 100 big ones).
