Hey everyone - heard some kind of mixed reviews about what to wear for secondary interviews. Obviously there is the whole suit option, but I feel more like myself wearing a nice shirt and sweater. I was just wondering if this is an acceptable choice or if I should just go with the usual suit and tie and/or button down shirt and tie.

Like what to wear for in person interview? I would wear a suit regardless- I would rather overdress then underdress any day of the week

I’m assuming OP meant for secondary photos as that’s the title of the thread. If you’re a guy, wear a button down and tie. If you’re a female, wear a nice blouse.

I wore a nice button down in my secondary photo, which was actually the photo my undergrad bio department took of me for awards I won—I cropped out the caption and used it as my secondary photo.

As far as secondary interviews, I wore a charcoal/dark navy bespoke suit with black Allen Edmonds Park Avenues, solid light blue spread collar BB dress shirt and a burgundy silk tie with or without subtle light blue or navy pattern.

Also, what are secondary photos for? If you opt in to stay with a student host, is that photo shared with the host?

I’ve seen them used during some of my MMIs and some schools have said they use them during committee meetings when looking over apps.

Guy: button down and tie
