I sent out my AMCAS application last week and I have already received secondary requests from NYMC, Penn State and Univ of Connecticut. My primary application hasn't even been processed yet, so, on what basis are they sending out the secondary applications anyway?
The emails I received from Penn State says Congratulations! u have been selected into our applicant pool...or something to that effect....
Is it really a selection process or do they automatically send secondaries out to all applicants?

Most do automatically. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

yep, definitely want your money.

i got that one too for penn state when i applied...if i remember correctly they put you in a "class" or something to make you feel good, but i didn't move out of that class and didn't get invited for an interview.

some schools will actually screen before sending out secondaries...only then do you have to pay the money.

take a look at the school's website or call the admissions office to find out how the school does it with secondaries.
