On one of my secondaries (the duke app) there's an essay question asking me to describe a difficult ethical/moral situation in 1000 words or less. My essay, however, is only about 300 words long.
My question is, is this too short an essay? I think I got my point across and I dont want to go on and on just to get close to the 1000 word mark but I'm not sure if thats fine with the ad comms.

I think as long as you wrote a convincing essay, and that it says what you would like it to, the length is not a negative issue. If anything, I'm sure AdComs appreciate concise, well-written essays, given the sheer volume of applications they have to go through.
