Can someone help explain to me what a semester unit is? Say my school is by semester (Fall, Spring, Winter, Fall) how many courses would make up 8 semester units?

Hi, it sounds like your school is on a quarter system. Semester systems usually consist of Fall and Spring. Here is the conversion:

Semester Units = Quarter Units / 1.5
Quarter Units = Semester Units x 1.5
