send Email/letter update to schools?

Has anyone done this and have had their email or letter acknowledged (ie: letter added to their file, or gotten a reply back)?

I was thinking about doing this because my fall quarter had solid "A"s. also I have taken on some more challenging aspects in my already stated ECs. At my previous interview and eventual rejection, my low science gpa was to blame...had some C+ and Cs

Thus, for the post dec1 game, i want to show my top schools that im doing a lot better and to express the strong interest i still have in their program.

Not sure if it will help, but it probably wont hurt. Some schools are lame and will require official ADSAAS updates with progress and stuff and and don't communicate in other ways.

i did something similar and got an email that was along the lines, we appreciate your update, please in the future to refrain sending us things we don't ask for as it will only delay your application...
needless to say, i was disheartened

i think they will see through our aadsas academic updates
