Sending a letter of intent to schools i have not heard back from

Hi,

So I was wondering if it's a good time to send schools I have not heard back from an email asking something along the line of "I have not heard back/ seen any updates from your school in awhile. Is my application still being considered?"

I've heard of some people doing this and got an interview couple days/weeks after doing so.
Figured I should do this now as most schools are probably filling in their pre dec interviews.
Any thoughts? and how should I format it.

I'm international and stats are just meh. Really wanna make sure I get enough interviews.

You should!! I did it for one of my top 5 and I got into their last pre-december interview date!!

Just surprised that schools send out interview invites when applicants write LOIs.

I hope you got your invite not just because you wrote them a letter. This is just creating a big mass.
