I would say just let it go. I have never heard of that as a thing even.

most of the schools I interviewed at have a special application for scholarships where you answer essays etc. If your schools have this it may be the place to put your update rather than in a general update to the adcom.
Id est, I would call and ask if the scholarship committee bases it’s decisions off your AMCAS application or a combination of FAFSA and scholarship applications
