sending recommendation letter outside of ERAS

one of the attending I am working for wants to recommend me to this program i interviewed at. He wants to write a personal letter to the PD. U think its a good idea or would it be a violation of NRMP? btw, this attending of mine doesnt work in the same hospital, infact he is not even in the same state.

I like how you waited all of 7 minutes on a Saturday before freaking out and begging for an answer.

Just have the attending call the PD at that program. It will be a bigger deal.

You actually got 2 answers:

1) it would be find to send the letter outside of NRMP
2) recommendation that a call would carry even more weight

Nothing else to say. Besides, its been a holiday week and people are busy with other things. I don't personally feel the need to comment on all threads especially if there is already an answer.
