Am I considered a late applicant if I have all my secondaries sent out at the end of August? Am I at a big disadvantage then?

It depends on your stats. My friend had a 3.6/37 last cycle and applied around september and got into 6 schools (3 top 20's).

If I have around average stats with great extracurriculars is it worth spending money to apply broadly or should I not waste the time, energy, and money and just apply to state school and DO?
