Graduation is only 10 months away and after the hell that was last year I'm pretty content with doing minimal work and getting B's and C's. Such a change from my anal retentiveness of 1st and 2nd year! Pretty sure this little "vacation" is going to end when rotations hit though. 🙁

Rotations are a breeze compared to year 3 for me. That is the roughest year at UF. They really slam you and you have no time for anything except school.

Rotations are fun. You'll be surprised at how much you really know. We have a full year of rotations, though one is a "month off". My month off is in another 2.5 weeks. I've been rotating since February 27th.

I've got it bad and I'm not even through my first semster of PY1 😛

I'm actually ready for rotations. I want out of the CLASSROOM.

A lot of people say that, but for me I'm surprised at how much I don't know. I easily passed all of my classes the first three years, but I'm feeling like an idiot on some of my rotations. I don't know if it's tough preceptors, or just because I'm not even remotely interested in some of the rotations I was assigned.

we're allowed to have some choice in what we get, but i have no idea what to pick really. i don't want to choose wrong and get stuck in hell for 6 weeks. you guys are just assigned?

We rank our top 5 or 6 choices and apparently they try to match us with what we want. Half of my rotations I didn't even list as preferences though.

We pick our rotations differently. The class will be divided into groups. Last year, there were 9 groups. There is a computer system which lists all of the rotations. On the first day of registration, you pick two required and one elective clerkship. On the second day, you pick two required and two elective clerkships. On the first day, group one goes first, and on the second day, group nine goes first. You know immediately what clerkship you're doing.

I'm almost at the most hour intensive didactic semester. I've already heard the stories about this semester, and none are pleasant. In the spring, I'll be in class almost every day from 8:30am to 4:30am. The one good thing about the schedule I hope to get, I'll ocasionally get Thursday off. I have a Thursday morning lab which meets every other week and will have nothing in the afternoon. At UIC, second year has the highest amount of hours. Third years have the hardest material, but have fewer hours and also, they need to complete their electives.
