yeah seniors!!! um, as for me, i'm still working on my college apps. if you check the SATs forum, i'm having a bit of dilemma with that so that's what i'm worrying about right now. but i'm also having fun with family and friends and actually getting to do some traveling which i LOVE! just some short weekend trips and college visits but still fun nonetheless.

what's everyone else up to?
 
Thinking about which college to apply here.

So far it's boring compare to the last 3 years. I just barely turned in my CAL Grant application for college money and still gathering information about admission.

I still have several SATs/ACTs to study for, so no fun for me yet. 🙁 Next semester I need to shadow pharmacists and maybe dentists. And if I have time I should probably get a job-teach gymnastics or be a pharmacy clerk or something.
 
Exciting. 😀

I hate high school so I can't wait to graduate. I have a countdown going on my computer and my cell phone. haha. Last year I did so much, I'm trying to take it down a notch this year... but I'll still be working two jobs and volunteering, ballet, and figure skating. 🙂 Oh, and in spring break... I'm going to JAPAN! I'm so excited. I haven't been out of the country... ever. Yay. And it's October (BEST month of the year) so I'm pretty excited. 🙂

I'm Russian. Have fun! Isn't the easiest language, but damn sure makes more sense than English.

Me? Me? Oh, well, I'm trying to get back control of my life here. Does the homework EVER end? Or maybe I'll volunteer and get a CNA certification. And spend more time with those friends I'm leaving.
 
I haven't applied to any colleges, yet. Most likely, I'll end up going to one of my state schools.

In about a month, I'll be starting up in a recreational basketball league for high-schoolers with some of my friends. We did it last year and enjoyed it, so I'm looking forward to that.

I don't know. Not much else going on. Just trying to get by with homework and relaxing on the weekends.

Agreed - I want my high school years back! Less stress about financial problems for me anyways.

I've never been back to the high school I graduated from and that was 8 years ago. Man time sure does fly by once you are out of high school. That means a good friend I had in high school has a child that is 8 years old now (yes, he couldn't keep his man stick in his pants).
 
Time flies no matter what age your at. But I don't want to remember my high school years.... I just really want to graduate... but I don't want to wish away my life so I'll take it day by day. 🙂

Russian? I always wanted to learn russian! that's awesome.
 
Well so far im doing College Applications, and SAT/ACT tests, im kind of bad at tests. On top of that Im taking AP Physics, Intro In2 College Calc, Public Affairs PA and next semester i have speech ICK lol. But im taking another class working in the daycare which i LOVE. But for fun Im doing the Play again, Dance Club, Student Council, Baton Twirling, im going to try to get a job, volunteering thro key club. ANd on my down time I LOVE to read and excerise. Plus in febuary Sims3 comes out

Just get done with high school, move on with life and don't go back to the high school you graduated from. That is the only advice I have at this time. Good luck.

Haha I don't plan to ever come back to that school. No way. It seems as if all the adults in my life (mainly family and work persons) wish they were in high school. I don't understand. It's overrated. haha. But hey, its gotta be better than being like 85 and terminally ill. 🙂
 
Oh my god. I just sent in my college applications. After three years of hauling butt, you'd think that when i hit the submit buttom, there would have been some fireworks and an 1812 Overture going on... But no. Just my cat meowing because I haven't fed her yet.

So right. Forget high school--I'm never going to back to my hometown. Not if I can help it, anyway. So help me god, my parents can get Skype and we'll video chat on Christmas Day, because there isn't an Inquisition, Spanish or otherwise, that could make me come back here.
 
I just sent out 7 applications.. I have one left to do and then i have 2 interviews with on the spot decisions coming up in 2 weeks.

and I am getting ready to take the sat for the 4th time this weekend:scared:

I probably wont be having much fun until i know ive been accepted somewhere

I know exactly how you feel. The last year I've been going crazy trying to find a perfect school to fit me and worrying about college, etc. Then when I applied... I couldn't even breath I was so stressed out. Thankfully, by "perfect fit" college notified me in 3.5 days! I was so excited! I thought I would go crazy once I got in, looking at everythign I can do and such... but I'm actually quite calm now... but soo excited. 1st semester is half way done... 3/4 year left until graduation! Can you believe it? I've been waiting for this since I was 7!

haha, i dont think i ever said i'd love to go back to high school....did I? Altho i didnt have a bad high school experience, so I wouldnt mind being young again! I'm almost 22 for cryin out loud, already starting to plan my retirement!

you know what made me feel really old....... a large majority of these entering freshman class of college students were born in the 90s!!!

Dear Lord, that's just insane.

Some kid called me ma'am the other day. I almost slapped him across the face. I'm not a ma'am!! My parts are still all where they belong! Gravity has yet to take hold!!!

I had a lab partner last winter who somehow managed to be the same age as my youngest sibling (who was a junior in HS at the time). She gave me the 😱 1980's😕 when she heard my birthday and half the class joined in on the 😱 I decided it is definetly time for me to graduate college.

I then received requests to buy people alcohol for the rest of the semester.

😱 Do not remind me of crap like that! I remember when it made me feel old that people born in the 80's could buy alcohol.
 
My friend called me the other day. This is how the conversation went.

Her: "Want to hear something scary?"
Me: "Sure."
Her: "So I was tooling around facebook and found this guy a couple of years younger than me that I knew from high school, and I was looking at his friends."
Me: "Okay, definitely not scared."
Her: "Well he was friends with this girl I used to babysit for and I remember being being at her house watching the white Bronco chase when she was four years old."
Me: "Okay, OJ's scary, but I'm still not getting it."
Her: "Well, she just started college this year."
Me: "Oh crap, we're old. That is scary."
 
I have video games older than some of the posters in this thread.


edit: To elaborate, I think I got my first Nintendo somewhere around 1987-88. I was late to the party.

I had one of those. I admit I picked it up for $10 at a garage sale with about 20 games.

Played with it for a week or so and sold it to a used game store for somewhere over $75. 😀

I still have one of these from when I was a kid. It doesn't work anymore, but I keep it because it's nifty and possibly has the weirdest controler ever.

I am, however, not old enough to have purchased it, my parents had it and I merely inhereted it.

I was on the 5 DURING the white bronco chase. I remember them driving past our car.

I'm doing NaNaWriMo as well. But I haven't started it yet. And its the sixth day. Woo is me.
 
I'm still sort of settling into my school, since it's my first (and last!) year here. This is my fourth high school, and I've been looking at colleges in the city I'm currently living in. I don't think I want to have to move and adapt to yet another new place quite yet. : )

4.0 unweighted GPA (6 AP, rest are honors), 2200 SAT, captain and all-league player on the varsity football and tennis teams at a large school, manager of the student store, 100+ hours of volunteering yearly, etc.

Don't mean to brag 😉
