Is September 1st the day that you can certify and submit your ERAS or is it the day that P.D.'s can start downloading appllications? Does anyone know? Has anyone certified and submitted yet?
I'm not wanting to apply early because I'm some sort of uber gunner---I'm the exact oposite---I just want to hit submit and get this ERAS thing done so I'm not constantly worried about it anymore.

I too would like to hit certify and submit just to get it out my hair. I don't want to deal with it anymore. I spent all of July working on it. PS not perfect... I don't care.. I am sick of reading it.

So...am I thinking of this right...? I thought I had this down but the more I read, the more confused I get.

I am a DO applying to only allo programs which makes the earliest submission date 8/1. I had planed to submit my applications and apply to programs on that day as I think my PS and CAP will be done. I will NOT have my SLORs (standardized letters of recommendation for EM) by this date as my first 4th yr rotation and first EM rotation have just started. This is ok to do right? Programs that want to give me an interview invite without first seeing a SLOR can and those that wish to wait can wait until I have my SLORs uploaded right?

By submitting, I am not closing the application to the program and I can add SLORs anytime??? Is there a disadvantage to applying early (sept 1st) if you dont have all the pieces yet? I was under the impression some schools start to give out interviews without all the info and that it is wise to get in what you have when you have it...?

You should be fine. But it is good to keep in mind that once you get the minimum application materials (varies by program) your application will be judged for interview, and you could be denied an interview based on the minimum materials regardless of whatever you plan on sending in later. It's a crazy game...

I am a DO and have not yet submitted my ERAS. what is the earliest date for DO programs to see DO ERAS applications?

also, do you have to list a program for them to be able to view your ERAS application? if a program told me they are looking out for my app, do they have access to my saved items if I have not yet listed them as a program?

Thanks!

Like 2 months ago. ERAS for the NRMP Match opens tomorrow.

Yes. This is basically like asking, "will a school get my application if I never bother to mail it to them?"

Yes, you must actually apply to a program before they can get your application. This is basically like asking, "will a school get my application if I never bother to mail it to them?"

Sept 1st is NOT a DEADLINE! It is when you can first submit your application.
