Just wondering how much of a difference it will make if I take the DAT in September instead of August as I had originally planned.

How many of you took it in September or later last year and still got interviews and acceptances by Dec 1st???

😕

If you application is in you are ok taking the DAT in September. I turned my app in on July 9th of last year and took the DAT on September 1st or something like that. I had most of my secondaries completed by then so they were just waiting on my scores. If you do it that way you are at no real disadvantage. I received 7 interview invites. However, by then it was too late for UOP (already filled most interview spots) and Case was already sch their alternate interviews for March. Your interviews may come later but you will get them.
I had interviews as follows (1) October, (1) November, (2) December, (1) January, (2) March.
2 acceptances by Dec 1st

what do you mean by UOP already had their interview spots filled?
I am also planning on taking the DAT on early september so I'd like to know if it will be too late.

I sent my application in during the middle of July and didn't take the DAT until mid-September. Like the earlier post said, as long as you have your app in early you should be fine. As soon as I got the printout of my DAT scores I faxed the unofficial copy to all of the schools so they would have something to go off of. I think UCLA was the only school that refused to accept any faxed unoffical copies, so you might want to check with each school.

I had one interview before Dec 1st and was accepted on that date. All of my other interviews were in later December and January. I don't know about Pacific's seats being filled so early; I got a late interview invite from them in March.

if you don't mind, can you tell me where you applied to? which school did you have an interview before december?
I thought I would still get most of interviews before december 1st even after taking DAT in september. I guess not..

I also thought I'd get interviews and acceptances by Dec 1st by taking the DAT in early September... For those of you who went through this last year, would you mind posting your stats and which schools interviewed you before Dec and which waited until after?

I think taking as soon as possible is better. If you take it on September, U can't retake it. If you take on august, u can retakes it. I think taking more tests can increase your chance more than studying 1 more month and take it only once.

UOP sends out a ton of interview invites early and ton of acceptances by Dec 1st. Most students interviewed are accepted and most students accepted do not turn down the school. They are a very difficult school to get into if you arent one of the early applicants. Yes you can still get an interview as the other poster so indicated but an interview in March will most likely result in a seat on the alternate list. My application was complete by September 13th yet due to the volume of applicants it took several months to review. I visited the school for a tour during the last week of November and they had filled all of their interview spots.
