Okay so I have completed my Freshman year of college. I did terribly and I know I can snap out of it. This was such a huge wake up call.

Anyways. I attend Polytechnic institute of NYU. During my first semester, I received a C in bio and Withdrew from Chemistry. During my second semester I received a C- in chemistry. Additionally, my major is Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
I have also received a C- in an english class but the rest of my classes are B's and A's. I have a 3.0 GPA as of right now.

This was because of bad study habits, my head wasn't into it, etc. I also want to either just do Pre-Med or CBE to make it easier for myself.

How are my chances at medical school looking? Assuming I do well from here on out?
I know I can improve my grades but is it too late? I also fear not making med school and being stuck without a job.

I appreciate any help really. Thank you.

If you get all As from here on out you can pull a 3.7+. It's just gonna come down to how badly you want it. Make sure you focus on your grades first, and once those are under control, start picking up some ECs you enjoy.

Life is over. Might as well just reserve your cardboard box house and plastic cup for begging in front of the bus station.

Seriously, improve upon your grades the rest of your 3 years of college, do well on the MCAT, and your bad grades freshman year will be seen as nothing more than a hiccup. Also get involved with EC's and take leadership positions in them.

Ya, just slow down a bit. It's still really really early. Also, don't just jump right into Chem II and Bio II. Take one science class at a time until you can prove that you can handle it. Also, review everything you didn't understand in Chem I and Bio I before starting either class, otherwise you're continuing with a bad foundation. Review concepts with Khan Academy and other resources until you consistently think "man, how did I not understand this stuff before?"

agree. You go from getting Cs in science classes to assuming you can get As... how about you try getting As with a light courseload first.

What I'm basically asking is should i stay in it and try to improve my grades or am i wasting my time after such grades.
