Need to type this out quick as I have until 4:30pm to make a decision. Currently doing a post-bacc to raise my GPA. Taking 3 upper-div bio courses and 1 psychology elective (drugs and behavior). Got insanely sick last week and this week with the flu and missed tons of classes. The psychology course isn't podcasted, but the exams are all online and the first one is available today and must be completed by Sunday before midnight. So I have 3 days to take a 40 MC question exam, and we have 3 hours to take it once started. Having missed so many lectures and considering his slides aren't very complete, should I just drop now before 4:30 so I don't receive a "W"? Or should I take it, do the best I can, and try to ace all the other exams?

If I drop, I'll only be taking 12 units this quarter. Some people told me that isn't a lot for a post-bacc because adcoms want to see more than your average full-time if you're doing a post-bacc and want to show an upward trend.

Help help help...advice advice advice. Thank you in advance.

Uve got 3 days? Study and send a mass email to ask for a recording

If you can't make up for 2 weeks of a psych class and do decent on an exam by Sunday, you may need to look for a new career path. Suck it up and do a little cramming

If you cant get an A or a B+, drop.

It isn't a question of "Can I do well in this course during the quarter?", but rather "How much information did I miss these past 2 weeks that aren't covered in his slides?"

I don't know if I should risk doing poorly on this first exam. Studying isn't a problem, but I have no notes for the past 2 weeks...and as I said, his slides don't cover everything. I wasn't there to take notes and I don't know anyone in the class.

What would you do?

Not sure if you have this, but we're able to send e-mails to the entire class roster. You could try explaining your situation and see if anyone would be willing to send you their typed notes. It's worth a shot

I'll just stick to it. I don't want to have to resort sending a mass email out to everyone. I doubt anyone at UCSD would ever share their notes with anyone, it's just that type of school. I'll do the best I can on this exam and miss no other lectures.

Just curious why you wouldn't at least send a mass e-mail. Whats the worst that could happen? If its a large class I bet someone will share there notes with you. There has to be one nice person in the class.

Agreed👍

Ya, I've heard ucsd pre dental is super competitive. My 1st instinct would be to lean more towards all As than a lot of classes and not all As

honestly, 3 hours 40 mc? if you study all the notes and the tbook, you can get 100 percent of the questions you covered. imagine that 5/40 are ones you missed, take the test next to two computers, and google the questions. you have 4.5 minutes per question, if youre well prepared on 35/40 of the questions, i dont see why you are even stressed about it. take it with a friend from the course.

Yea I'm staying in it. I'm just paranoid, that's all. It being a post-bacc and what-not. Thanks for all the input guys.
