Serious Questions about Work/Activities Section on AMCAS

So I'm finishing up my worksheet and I have a couple of important questions that I really need some help with:

1. The Dates (From-To)

If I plan on continuing a placement in senior year. Can I write To: May 2007?
Also, I'm beginning a neat placement in a couple of weeks so can I also extrapolate that to May 2007 because I plan on continuing next year?
Will the schools somehow check that I actually continued my placement.
This is especially important for the activity that starts this June since I'm beginning it only now.

2. Contact Name

I organized a charity function a couple years ago with another group of students. I don't know who I should put as a contact since there wasn't anyone with any "authority" there. It was basically a group of students and since it was 2 years ago, most of the older students have moved on and I've lost touch with them.
Can I put down a friend who worked on this with me? or is it better to leave it blank in this situation?

I agree with Bluntman on item #1. On item #2, I'd go with leaving it blank to show that it was just a group of students. A "contact" is not needed for every item.
