What is the psychiatric term for eating feces and/or smelling feces?
I thought it was coprolalia. Is that correct?

coprolalia is cursing, like in tourette's syn. You mean coprolagnia-a form of sexual perversion in which the thought or sight of excrement causes pleasurable sensation.

:laugh:
Just the sort of question I would expect 'skidmark' to know.

coprophagia........

Yep. The -phagia ending refers specifically to eating (as in macrophage).

What kind of book (he dares to ask)???

Im really NOT trying to make "a thing out of this" but since you asked I believe my friend is attempting to write a best seller about relations.
{Also its interesting how sometimes the simplest statements or questions cause more drama or entertainment then I ever imagined, people seem to be cracking up and my honest intention was only to find the correct word for a word not commonly used}

Wow. I don't know how a best selling book about relations could possible say anything positive about that topic...or could even incorporate it either?

How would it go in the books context?

Maybe something like this....

"when trying to relate to someone with coprophagia, try and avoid the following phrase when at dinner with the person "this food tastes like $hit!", becasue it may make them feel uncomfortable because of their craving for the $hit."

Oh yes.....a best seller for sure.

I don't think that will be on Step 1.
