I could have sworn Seton Hall worked like most of the other DPT schools in NJ with a connection to UMDNJ. Did that change? Are they not connected to UMDNJ? I live right next to Seton Hall and I haven't applied because I assumed it's the UMDNJ 3+3 thing like most other NJ DPT schools. I'm reading on their website and it does say: "Special admissions consideration is given to students enrolled in the dual-degree program at Seton Hall University." Reading google and it looks like there's three DPT schools in NJ not two like I originally thought. Seton Hall is the third that I did not know about along with UMDNJ and Richard Stockton.
I wonder what are my chances. I think I'm good everywhere except for that GRE section. I haven't met their minimum GRE requirement. I guess I can call and talk to them about the GRE. It couldn't hurt. But my overall GPA is 3.23 and my pre-requisite GPA is 3.57. Those numbers aren't excellent either though.
I just realized something, English is a prerequisite for some schools and on PTCAS my English Composition GPA is a 2.65. But the lowest grade I have for English on my transcript is a C+ (There's 3 English courses on my transcript and the grades for them are C+, B and B). Should I be retaking English to bring that cumulative score up? Same thing with my math PTCAS GPA, it's 2.20. But I think that's because I got an F in Calculus but I retook it and got a B. And you know PTCAS takes all the scores even retakes and I assume that when schools say you should have a 3.0 they mean in the course not as a cumulative GPA as PTCAS calculates right? So maybe those PTCAS English and Math GPAs don't mean anything, except for an explanation of why I do so poorly on the GRE. LAtest GRE scores are Verbal 145, Quantitative 144, Analytical 3.5 but on the previous attempt my Analytical was 4.0. That and the fact that the last math and English courses I took was 10 years ago.
Jeez! I have 3 F grades and 10 withdrawals on my transcript. Most of the Withdrawals I can explain with the fact that it was a turning point in my college career when I was changing majors and my college career stretches 12 years long even though I only have an Associates Degree and Bachelors (which is supposed to only be 6 years long).
The application deadline for Seton Hall is January 15th.
Anyway here's the application page:
