Anyone hear or know anything about Seton Hall's application process? Can't find anything on here. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks and good luck!

I could have sworn Seton Hall worked like most of the other DPT schools in NJ with a connection to UMDNJ. Did that change? Are they not connected to UMDNJ? I live right next to Seton Hall and I haven't applied because I assumed it's the UMDNJ 3+3 thing like most other NJ DPT schools. I'm reading on their website and it does say: "Special admissions consideration is given to students enrolled in the dual-degree program at Seton Hall University." Reading google and it looks like there's three DPT schools in NJ not two like I originally thought. Seton Hall is the third that I did not know about along with UMDNJ and Richard Stockton.

I wonder what are my chances. I think I'm good everywhere except for that GRE section. I haven't met their minimum GRE requirement. I guess I can call and talk to them about the GRE. It couldn't hurt. But my overall GPA is 3.23 and my pre-requisite GPA is 3.57. Those numbers aren't excellent either though.

I just realized something, English is a prerequisite for some schools and on PTCAS my English Composition GPA is a 2.65. But the lowest grade I have for English on my transcript is a C+ (There's 3 English courses on my transcript and the grades for them are C+, B and B). Should I be retaking English to bring that cumulative score up? Same thing with my math PTCAS GPA, it's 2.20. But I think that's because I got an F in Calculus but I retook it and got a B. And you know PTCAS takes all the scores even retakes and I assume that when schools say you should have a 3.0 they mean in the course not as a cumulative GPA as PTCAS calculates right? So maybe those PTCAS English and Math GPAs don't mean anything, except for an explanation of why I do so poorly on the GRE. LAtest GRE scores are Verbal 145, Quantitative 144, Analytical 3.5 but on the previous attempt my Analytical was 4.0. That and the fact that the last math and English courses I took was 10 years ago.

Jeez! I have 3 F grades and 10 withdrawals on my transcript. Most of the Withdrawals I can explain with the fact that it was a turning point in my college career when I was changing majors and my college career stretches 12 years long even though I only have an Associates Degree and Bachelors (which is supposed to only be 6 years long).

The application deadline for Seton Hall is January 15th.

Anyway here's the application page:

Lol, I read the entire Seton Hall website multiple times over the course of a year. I was looking for information on the admissions process if you knew anything. For example, when will letters of rejection or acceptance be mailed? Anyone know what the average GPA/GRE of accepted students is (not the minimum)? I applied to the program in October so I assume they will not get back to me with a response until after the deadline has passed...

Thanks though!

I've been pestering Aleatha Joseph actually lol.
She said that we will not get a decision until after the deadline.

I just applied to SHU about 2 weeks ago . The school is literally like 5 minutes from where I currently live. But wow the tuition is high.

Yea the tuition is high, but you got to do what ever it takes to become a PT right? Hopefully, we both get in.

You know although the tuition is high my home and work are literally 5 minutes away from SHU so yeah I'm really hoping I get in.

Do you know students who got in the program? What were their stats like?

No I don't know any students who got in to the program. I myself didn't even know they had their own program until a few weeks ago, that's why I applied so late. I used to think their program was in connection with UMDNJ not that they actually had their own program. I really hope I get in, it would be really sweet to have home, work and school within 5 mins of each other. I'm actually just now going to hand in my supplementals tomorrow. I have to get a signature from a PT for my observation hours, then I'm going to drive to SHU to hand in the supplementals to the graduate admissions office.

I actually handed in my supplemental material in person today. I hope that helps my chances. I had a face to face talk with Aleatha Joseph. I only regret not telling her in person that I am a Physical Therapist Assistant but they should notice it on my transcript. I'm still waiting on one more LOR but this reference relies on someone else to help do the letter on the computer so I have to wait for that person to be available. I told the reference that time is running out. The deadline is fast approaching. He says it'll be done by Monday, Christmas Eve. I hate to keep bugging him. I visited him in person and gave him a gift today, i hope that helps speed things up.
